Ajman community races kick off next Friday
Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) is organising a series of community races in collaboration with Al Qudra Sports Management to reinforce Ajman’s position as a prominent sports and tourist destination locally and internationally.
Open for both professionals and amateurs, the races include the following four categories:
Emirati- men, Emirati- women, open category- men, and open category-women. Masfoot Mountain Bike will be held at Masfout mountains on Friday, 27 November 2020 and aims to attract 200 participants, while Ajman Time Trial Challenge (10 km) will take place at Al Zorah on Friday, 4 December 2020 and aims to attract 120 competitors.
The second edition of Amina Hospitals Half Marathon- Ajman (21.1 km) will be held on Friday, 25 December 2020 at Al Zorah excluding subcategories and aims to attract 400 contestants.
All community races are being hosted with precautionary and safety measures in place including temperature checks for all participants, wearing masks and gloves during the race, limiting the number of participants and ensuring social distancing.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said: “The emirate of Ajman has gone a long way in hosting and organizing entertainment, sports and cultural events that contribute to building more confidence in Ajman’s tourism offerings, and we will be hosting more activities as we continue to develop the emirate’s tourism sector and consolidate Ajman’s position as an ideal destination for tourism and recreational events and activities."
