Check-in to the Wedding Suite at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, which features modern Arabian décor, a huge bathroom with freestanding tub, and private balcony and sunbathing terrace.

Spend the afternoon by the adults-only outdoor pool, surrounded by daybeds and private cabanas and complete with a swim-up bar.

As the sun starts to fade, head to the spa for some pampering. There’s a wide range of treatments including couples massage.

Then enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner at Bukhara. Be sure to order the signature tandoori lobster, combining locally caught seafood with classic Indian flavours.

Finally, wander down to Zanzi Bar for a nightcap. Set right on the sand, you can sip cocktails accompanied by the sound of gently rolling waves.

After a leisurely buffet breakfast on the terrace, don your whites for a game of tennis. The ocean breeze cools the court, and you can also sign up for private or group lessons.

Walk over the road to Qdeemk Ndeemk Café for a latte or Arabic coffee. With funky décor and a menu of Arabic and Emirati dishes, this café is one of Ajman’s hippest hangouts.

Continue on to the Traditional Souq and Gold Souq in the Nakheel neighbourhood. Spend a couple of hours wandering the lanes and shopping for souvenirs, pashminas and gold jewellery.

Walk back to the Corniche and enjoy an early afternoon stroll along this popular seafront path.

Then drive or take a taxi to Al Zorah Golf Club, a scenic spot nestled among mangrove forest that is rich in birdlife. Have dinner at Shakespeare and Co., which has pretty shabby-chic décor, an international menu and tempting desserts.

Have a quick dip in the sea before breakfast, then it’s time to head home to begin your new life together.
