BEST TIME OF YEAR
Who needs long journeys and airport hassles when you can holiday at home instead? With a pristine beach and great value hotels, Ajman is the perfect choice for UAE residents in search of a stress-free staycation.
Day 1
After an easy drive to your hotel in Ajman, leave your luggage at reception and head straight to the pool for some serious sunbathing. Fairmont Ajman is the city’s newest luxury hotel, but you’ll also find five-star frills, minus the high prices, at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, Ajman Saray and The Ajman Palace.
Once you’ve checked-in and had lunch, head out on an afternoon desert safari. Tour operators will pick you up from your hotel and then drive into the desert, where you can go dune bashing, ride a camel and watch a falconry display.
Back in Ajman, enjoy a sunset cycle (or stroll if you haven’t brought your bikes) along the Corniche, past the sandy-coloured Al-Murabbaa Watchtower.
Even if you’re not staying at Ajman Saray, be sure to stop by Bab Al Bahr Beach Bar & Grill for an aperitif overlooking the ocean. Then book a table at Mejhana, known for its quality Lebanese cuisine, or Safi, one of the city’s best seafood spots.

Day 2
Breakfast is leisurely affair when you’re on holiday so enjoy a hearty or healthy buffet breakfast at your hotel, before heading out for a day of sightseeing.
Make Ajman Museum in Al Bustan your first port of call. With a fascinating collection of artefacts housed in a beautifully restored fort, the museum is one of Ajman’s most visited attractions.
Come lunchtime, pull up a table on the terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf at Café Kranzler at Kempinski Hotel Ajman. The relaxed restaurant offers both buffet and à la carte options, with international cuisine ranging from pasta and curry to burgers and salads.
Spend your afternoon wandering around the refurbished Saleh Souq, where you’ll discover traditional clothes and fabrics, and the modern Gold Souq, where you can haggle over the price of a glittering trinket or simply enjoy a spot of window-shopping.
Next, drive to Al Zorah Golf Club and savour a sundowner or two overlooking the spectacular golf course and mangroves.
With your mini-break coming to an end, it’s time to head home and you can relax knowing the journey won’t take you long.
