The Ajman Department of Tourism Development signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation to enhance the intellectual and cultural cooperation between both parties, and improve the cultural sector in Ajman through joint efforts and bilateral discussions. The MOU was signed by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, and His Excellency Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation.

The memorandum set the framework of cooperation and development between Ajman Tourism and Al Owais Cultural Foundation to achieve their common goals, through discussions, exchange of expertise and information, conducting studies and workshops, issuing publications, and attending scientific and cultural seminars, in addition to organizing intellectual, social, and cultural events and activities in the emirate.

According to the terms set in this agreement, both parties seek to improve the cultural environment and activities in the emirate by exploiting the efforts of both governmental and private authorities and adopting new initiatives that will support this objective. As part of its social responsibility, Ajman Tourism aims to expand its strategic partnerships with many cultural entities to broaden the societies  knowledge in this field and support a cultural renaissance as per Ajman’s vision and the UAE’s national agenda.

His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development stated that the department is keen to increase its local partnerships to promote the cultural and innovative scene as per the directives, strategies, and visions of the emirate to transform it into a world cultural hub that hosts artists and innovators from everywhere.

“This agreement with the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will enrich the overall cultural environment in the emirate, as it will set the ground for a long-term collaboration between both parties through regular meetings to improve the artistic culture in Ajman and support its emerging artists”, Alhashmi added.

From his side, His Excellency Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation stressed on the importance of the collaboration between the national authorities and departments which will improve the exchange of information and expertise between them, as well as organizing joint events and projects to promote the cultural, social, and touristic activity across the emirate.

“We are honored to be partnering with the Ajman Department of Tourism Development which is conducting a notable progress on the local level. The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation is extending its efforts towards this department to organize a number of events at hand, as we are confident that we will achieve further success together and which will fully reflects our Emirati identity”, Al Hashemi concluded.
