September - May

Safe, clean and welcoming, Ajman is a great family-friendly destination. From beaches and ten-pin bowling to camel racing and kids’ clubs, Ajman offers plenty of fun for the whole family.

Day 1

Explore the treasures and stories of the emirate at Ajman Museum. Housed in an historic fort, the museum has annotated displays of weaponry, jewellery, pottery and clothing, along with models of dhows and barasti huts.

After checking-in to Kempinski Hotel Ajman, spend the afternoon by the pool as your children head off to the kids’ club. Fun-filled activities include treasure hunting, face painting, games and Zumba, plus there’s an indoor play area and outdoor playground.

Then gather the family for a game of ten-pin bowling at Cosmic Bowling, the hotel’s very own six-lane bowling alley. Kids will love the space-age vibe, while adults can enjoy a beverage at the licensed bar.

Finally, sit down for dinner at Café Kranzler, a relaxed all-day dining restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, buffet and à la carte options, and theme nights with entertainment.

Ajman Fish Market Highlights

  • Popular market
  • Great prices
  • Basic restaurants
  • Open everyday
  • Lively auction at 6pm

Day 2

After breakfast, play a friendly game of tennis, and sign up for lessons if you or the kids need a little help with your game.

Next, walk over to the Saleh Souq, an atmospheric Arabian market with a palm-frond roof and coral stone floor, to shop for souvenirs and gifts. Then visit the Gold Souq next door, a treasure trove of sparkling jewellery and gems.

Come lunchtime, grab a table at Qdemk Ndemk Café, opposite Fairmont Ajman. The kids will love the bright murals and brass teapots hanging from the ceilings, while the Emirati dishes are great for sharing.

Walk off your lunch with an early afternoon stroll along the Corniche, or hire pedal go-karts to whiz along the flat path.

Send the children off to the kids’ club for an hour or two while you indulge in some much-needed me-time at the hotel spa.

Then sit down together for piping-hot pizza, made with organic ingredients and fresh from the stone oven, at Sabella’s.

Ajman Stud Highlights

  • World-class stud farm
  • Landscaped gardens
  • Horse riding
  • Guided tours

Day 3

Spend the morning splashing around in the kids’ pool, then head down to the 500-metre stretch of private beach for kayaking and parasailing.

Having worked up an appetite, grab a table for lunch at Café Kranzler where you can be sure to find something for everyone’s tastes.

Drive or take a taxi to Ajman City Centre Mall on Al Ittihad Street. Wander around the shops, enjoy the games and rides at Magic Planet, and catch a film at the six-screen VOX Cinemas.

For dinner, walk next door to Vista restaurant at Ajman Saray hotel. With a buffet of international dishes and live cooking stations, the casual restaurant is ideal for families.

After the kids are tucked up in bed, mum and dad can enjoy a peaceful evening walk along the beach.

Al Tallah Camel Racecourse Highlights

  • Lively atmosphere
  • Morning and afternoon races
  • Races held October - March

Day 4

Once the family has had breakfast and checked-out, drive or take a taxi to Al Tallah Camel Racecourse, about 10 kilometres from the city centre.

Camel racing season runs from October to March and it’s quite a spectacle. The whole family will have fun cheering the camels as they gallop around the track with remote-controlled robotic jockeys strapped to their humps.

That brings your trip to an end, but memories of your holiday in Ajman will stay with you long after you leave.
